We've worked with lots of organisations over the years but a long brag list of names is pretty dull.
Here's some recent and current clients, and details of what we've done for them.
Housing 21 - the older people's housing and care organisation. A long term client and one of our favourites, given their innovative work across the sectors. Over the years we've run their press office, written brochures, leaflets and annual reviews, supported lobbying and campaigning strategies, launched reports and helped with interviewing and developing communications staff. Pretty much - you name it - we've done it, and continue to do so...
Shift Speakers Bureau - giving a voice to people with mental health problems. A crucial project to combat stigma and discrimination, funded by the Department of Health. The Bureau is a volunteer database of people with severe and enduring mental health conditions willing to speak to the media. We handle requests from journalists, and also people organising conferences and seminars, come up with story ideas for placement and (most importantly) support speakers through the journey of being a media case study.
The British Council for School
Environments -
working towards the best school buildings. The BCSE is a young but increasingly
influential and important watchdog, given the new government's cuts to the Building
Schools for the Future programme. We handle their media relations (and have run
some media training for them), write speeches for conferences and events, help
to develop and implement their influencing strategy and write brochures and other
marketing communications material.
The National End of Life Care Programme -
this part of the Department of Health is responsible for helping to deliver the government's end of life care strategy, and providing education and training to 2.5 million health and social care staff. After writing a communications and stakeholder strategy for the Programme, we won a two year contract to implement it, providing a range of design, communications, project management and public affairs support. So we've been planning and delivering events, copywriting and designing for a range of media (from brochures to the web), policy research and service evaluation, public affairs support and setting up and managing a number of specialised stakeholder networks. We're also project managing the development of the new website, and of course running the Programme's press office.
Skills for Care - supporting professionals in social care. We designed a portfolio of materials for Skills for Care and partner organisations for a project on work principles and competences for health and social care staff, helping them develop skills in key areas of their work.
Mental Health Media - We worked with MHM for three years on the Mental Health Media Awards, which highlight excellence in the coverage and portrayal of mental health issues in the media.
SCIE - the social care experts. We've been working on a pilot project with SCIE, developing new written material for social care service users from some of the professional guidance that is available for social care practitioners; these new briefings will give service users an idea of what SCIE is saying to the social care professionals about good practice.
Office for Disability Issues - responsible for monitoring and influencing cross - Government policy on disability. We handled the stakeholder marketing for their first national public meeting, bringing together disabled people from around the UK, as well as providing both a conference report and an evaluation report on the event itself.
Employers' Forum on Disability - we
took on some of the responsibilities of the EFD's head of communications whilst she was
on maternity leave, covering a multitude of functions from strategic advice
through to hands on media relations work, as well as providing support to communications
staff.
